90% Arabica | 10% Robusta

This blend is made up for a 90% of Arabicas coming from Ethiopia, Brazil, Guatemala and Honduras. Another 10% is Robusta, coming from Flores in the Sunda Islands, an archipelago that lies between the Indian and the Pacific Oceans. The best Robusta in the world grows there. “Flores” evokes the contamination with the beautiful flowers that grow in those lands.

The final result is an intense, velvety taste, full body. The slight acidity is balanced and the cup is perfectly balanced.
Later, a pleasant aftertaste with hints of cocoa and bitter fruit. The permanence is prolonged in milk chocolate scents and toast fragrance.

From distant lands and seas, merchants ships loaded with spices headed to the Republic of Venice, thus exotic and unique scents spread across the markets, the alleys and the houses.  Among them there was coffee.
The Serenissima concealed coffee in the houses of merchants and travellers, for a very long time; it was only at the end of the 17th century that coffee was acknowledged as a beverage that enlightened the minds.

Therefore, since then, merchants and free spirits, travelers, writers and artists gathered in the great Piazza San Marco (St. Mark’s Square) at the first open-air coffeehouses that are still there in all their beauty. These cafés are Caffè Florian and Caffè Quadri, bearing witness to coffee coming from the East to the West.

What was Venice like in 1750, when playwright Carlo Goldoni wrote ‘La Bottega del Caffè’ choosing the Tuscan language to narrate daily life in the city so that everyone would understand it?

Venice with its lively and exciting atmosphere was remarkably represented by Venetian artist Francesco Guardi (1712-1793). Goppion Caffè, to honor the history of coffee, has established a relationship with Galleria Giorgio Franchetti housed in Ca’ D’Oro Palace in Venice and has selected one of Guardi’s painting to represent DOLCE, the special blend created by Fratelli Goppion at the very beginning of their careers as Coffee Roasters back in 1948.
