5mm Longer Than the Standard Hook

The factory portafilter hook on the Sette 270 and 270Wi is sized for standard 54-58mm portafilters. This replacement hook extends 5mm further towards the front of the grinder, giving the hook a longer reach and more reliable grip on smaller portafilters such as 49mm La Pavoni or Elektra lever machines – where the standard hook can sit too high and allow the portafilter to tilt or slip during grinding.

Direct Swap, No Tools Required

Replaces the factory hook with a simple screw swap – loosen the hex screw on the existing hook, remove, replace with the extended hook, and tighten with your portafilter in position for the best fit. Compatible with the Sette 270 and Sette 270Wi.

The Sette 270 and 270Wi ship with a portafilter hook calibrated for 54-58mm portafilters – the standard range for most home espresso machines. If you own a lever machine or a smaller single boiler with a sub-54mm portafilter, the standard hook often doesn’t grip the portafilter rim cleanly. The portafilter sits too low relative to the hook, which can mean it tilts during grinding and grounds end up partially outside the basket.

The Extended Portafilter Hook (S583) solves this directly. The additional 5mm of reach brings the hook further down and forward, seating smaller portafilters more securely against the grinder’s arms. The grounds chute then aligns better with the basket opening, improving distribution and reducing the amount of coffee that misses.
