Body and sweetness built into your water, not your beans

Texture from mineral chemistry

Konflux is a liquid mineral concentrate you add to your brewing water. Adjusting the mineral balance of the water changes how the coffee’s texture and sweetness read on the palate, giving a rounder, coating body without dulling clarity. The change happens in the water, so your beans, grind and recipe stay exactly as they are.

Two ways to dose

Build brew water from scratch at 3 to 4 g per litre on a demineralised, distilled or RO base, or add 2 to 3 drops straight into a finished 200 ml cup to taste the difference side by side. No new equipment, no recipe changes.

Competition-grade profile

Konflux started as a limited World Brewers Cup profile and has since backed winning routines at national level and the World AeroPress Championship. APAX LAB lists it as SCA Best New Product 2026 in coffee consumables. One 100 ml bottle makes roughly 150 brews.

APAX LAB Konflux

Konflux is a water-mineral concentrate from APAX LAB, made from demineralised water and analytical reagent grade (AR) minerals for high purity. It sits in the third-wave water category: instead of treating water as a neutral background, you use it as a controllable ingredient. Water is around 98 percent of a brewed coffee, and its mineral content drives both how the coffee extracts and how the resulting flavours are perceived.

Where the core APAX profiles each push a single direction, Konflux is built for texture. It targets mouthfeel, depth and smoothness, rounding out cups that taste clean but feel thin, and bringing sweetness and body forward without masking origin character. Because the change happens in the water and not the coffee, you keep your beans, grinder setting and brew recipe fixed and adjust one variable.

There are two ways to use it. To build your brew water, start from a demineralised, distilled or RO base and add 3 to 4 g of concentrate per litre (roughly 30 to 60 drops), which you can dial in with APAX LAB’s online recipe calculator. To season after brewing, add 2 to 3 drops directly into a finished 200 ml cup and taste it against an untreated one. Shake the bottle before dosing.

Two honest limits. First, do not add Konflux to an espresso machine’s tank or boiler: these concentrates are scale-forming, which matters more with the hard water common in Cyprus. Dosing a few drops into an espresso already in the cup is fine. Second, these are minerals, not flavourings, and they work best on a clean demineralised base rather than straight tap water, so you get the profile you actually dosed.

Konflux suits filter and AeroPress brewers chasing body, sweetness and a smoother finish, and it pairs well with clean, high-clarity coffees that lack weight. If you would rather not blend or measure, the fixed Nemo AeroPress profile is the simpler route; Konflux rewards those who want to tune texture deliberately.
